VACATION!  The best word in the language!!  Here are some shots from my vacations over the last couple of years.

 

The Assateague National Seashore is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to -- and these wild ponies that live on Assateague Island and Chincoteague Island are beautiful -- remnants of a mystery from long ago -- HOW did they get there???

 

assateaguelighthouse.JPGThe Assateague Lighthouse on Chincoteague Island -- this lighthouse is totally on land but because of the way the island has shifted, it's now inland instead of on the beach!!

hibiscus2.JPGA hibiscus at the Huntingdon Museum in Los Angeles.  I'd never seen one of these flowers until I went to Southern California to visit.

 

TrumpetFlower.JPGA trumpet flower vine at the Mission at San Juan Capistrano.  I've seen 2 missions in Southern California -- I've now gotten the feel for missions!!!

Poppies.JPGPoppies!  Another flower I'd never seen before I went to San Diego -- the colors are so vibrant!

sealsonthebeachLaJolla.JPGAhhhh - rest time for the seals that live in the Cove at LaJolla -- they are so cute and they are cordoned off from the public so people can't hurt them but can see them upclose -- what a wonderful sight!
